Got Off Track (In a Good Way)

So yeah, I got a bit sidetracked from VCR development. I ended up diving deep into another creative project. Music composition, to be specific. I've been spending a lot of time with Suno, and honestly, it's been really fun. I won't be disclosing much about that part of my work because I want to keep that anonymous for now, but let's just say it's been consuming more of my time than I expected.

Beyond the music itself, I've also been creating artwork for the tracks. Multiple prompts, layering different elements using various tools (including Sora), and just experimenting with the creative process. It's a different kind of problem solving than code, but it scratches a similar itch.

Life Gets in the Way

And of course, there's real life happening too. A lot has been going on. The usual stuff. Family, responsibilities, trying to keep everything together. The reality is that I'm running out of funds and options faster than I'd like. Job hunting has been... well, it's been a thing. Hopefully something comes through soon, but until then, it's just one day at a time.

Life is difficult. That's not news to anyone. But it does mean that the velocity on VCR is going to slow down quite a bit.

What This Means for Development

Blog updates will be less frequent for a while as I focus on this side project and navigate real life stuff. VCR is still in development, no question about that, but the pace will definitely drop. I need to get back into the codebase, review what I've built, and really understand the architecture again before I can push forward effectively.

The Plan (Loose as It Is)

Once I wrap up this Suno project (lol), I'll be diving back into VCR. That means reviewing the existing code, understanding the systems I've built, and probably doing a lot of "oh yeah, that's why I did it that way" moments. It's going to be a bit of a context switch, but that's the reality of juggling multiple creative projects.

The good news is that I'm still motivated. The project is still exciting. I still want to build this thing and see it through. It's just going to take a bit longer than I originally planned.

Final Thoughts

So that's where things stand. Side projects happening, real life being real life, funds getting tight, and VCR development slowing down. Not the most exciting update, but it's honest. Thanks for sticking around.

I'll be back with more technical updates once I get back into the VCR codebase. Until then, wish me luck on the job hunt and the music stuff.
